Jaromír Novotný works within an extended field of painting, analyzing the basic categories of material and technique. He builds his visual language by exploring the sensory impact of diverse processes used in media of painting, drawing and photography, together with employing certain associative and memory based properties of objects.

Jaromír Novotný was born in 1974 in former Czechoslovakia, works and lives close to Prague, Czech Republic. He received his MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 1999. He is represented by Hunt Kastner, Prague and Axel Vervoordt, Antwerp & Hong Kong.
