Matt Siegle is a mixed-media artist. His work examines the intersection of queer bodies and the landscape. Siegle has exhibited throughout the United States and Europe, including Liste Art Fair Basel (Switzerland), the Getty Institute (Los Angeles), Artists Space (New York), Kunsthal 44 Møen (Denmark), Sunday Art Fair (London), Good Weather (Chicago/North Little Rock), Paul Soto Gallery (Los Angeles), Anthony Greaney (Boston), Nicelle Beauchene Gallery (New York), NADA Miami Beach (Miami Beach), and most recently the Dallas Invitational (Dallas). His projects have received coverage by Artforum, The New York Times, Contemporary Art Daily, and Mousse Magazine, among other outlets. Siegle's practice also includes writing and curatorial projects: He has published essays on the work of Kenneth Tam, Jules Gimbrone, and Kent Monkman, and he is currently working on a book manuscript examining the fundamental propositions of object-based artwork. From 2013-2016, Siegle co-ran the seminal artist-run gallery metro pcs in Los Angeles, which exhibited over 100 emerging and established artists, and is now part of the “Closed Spaces” archive on Contemporary Art Daily. After 5 years of nomadic studio practice, he is based out of Brooklyn, NY.
