Jess Smith is a maker, ranging from digital production to photography to constructing props, clothing, and costumes.
During her undergrad years at Trinity College she completed a double major in Physics and Biology while also working in the costume shop for the campus theater. She continued to sew garments and costumes for herself throughout her graduate education studying hurricane track generation based on probabilities at UNC Chapel Hill, where she also tutored students in algebra and marine science.
She worked at the BeAM makerspace network at UNC Chapel Hill, teaching sewing, laser cutting and 3D printing, as well as mentoring students through various projects.
She is now enjoying working with the students at Dartmouth on their digital creation in film, art, audio, and website software.
