Breakfast with the Arts

Please join the Studio Art Department for Breakfast with the Arts with historian Annelise Orleck and photographer Liz Cooke. They will present photos from:"We Are All Fast-Food Workers Now: The Global Uprising Against Poverty Wages", Professor Orleck’s latest publication. The presentation starts at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, in the Nearburg Gallery, Black Family Visual Arts Center. The exhibition will be on display Oct. 9— Oct. 30, 2018.

Nan Darham, artist and MALS graduate student, will present her work at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept.18, 2018, in the Nearburg Gallery, Black Family Visual Arts Center.

Her exhibition will be on display through Oct. 2, 2018.

Pastries and coffee from Lou's Bakery will be provided!

Nan Darham is a graduate student in the MALS program from Bozeman, Montana. Her artwork and stories chronicle the culture, landscape, wildlife and characters that populate her life in the West. Her narrative drawings and paintings have been exhibited in many galleries and museums and are held in private collections including the Federal Reserve Bank, Minneapolis.  Her work was on display in the Washington, D.C. offices of Senator Max Baucus for over ten years and published in the New York Times.

Nan Darham has a M.F.A from CalArts and a B.S. from Boston University. Her General Studies concentration at Dartmouth focuses on Creativity and Innovation and Creative Writing. Selected pieces can be seen in the current edition of the MALS literary journal, Clamantis, and The Whitefish Review, edited by MALS graduate Brian Schott.

Please join the Studio Art Department for an exhibition and discussion of work by Visiting Lecturer Kari Cholnoky.

Discussion of work starts at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Nearburg Gallery (near the Maffei entrance), Black Family Visual Arts Center.

The exhibition runs from April 3 to April 24, 2018.

Discussion of work starts at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 27, 2018, at the Nearburg Gallery (near the Maffei entrance), Black Family Visual Arts Center.

The exhibition runs from Mar. 27 to Mar. 29, 2018.
