A group of elderly thespians reconnect to each other and to their past as they bravely tackle Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Discussion follows film with directors Jilann Spitzmiller and Hank Rogerson.
The newest from these celebrated alum directors (Shakespeare Behind Bars) follows a group of elderly actors who bravely tackle A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Soon the nursing home world and Shakespeare’s enchanted forest begin to mirror each other in disquieting ways, as mental and physical disabilities—rather than fairy spells—shift time and sow confusion. Yet the play also reawakens and reconnects these thespians to each other and to the most vital parts of their past.
