  • Louise Hamlin, professor of Studio Art, gave a gallery talk at the Hood Museum, in conjunction with their exhibition of Canaletto's Vedute etchings.  She explained basic printing making tools and techniques, demonstrated the inking and wiping of an etched plate, brought examples of student work in different stages of development, and spoke from an artist's point of view about various prints in the exhibition.

  • Alumni Helen Hou '14 graduated from the Studio Art program and is currently pursuing pharmaceutical studies at the University of California, San Francisco. She was recently featured in a UCSF article which discusses the common ground she has discovered between art and pharmacy.

  • In this show, artists are encouraged to explore the cycles they have witnessed or experienced in their lives. These could include cycles of life and death, destruction and rebirth, or journeys and destinations. Of particular interest are the areas where the cycle's elements intersect or break- periods of transition.

    The show will run from October 1 - 29, 2015 in the Student Gallery at the VAC.
