Gina Adams: Artist-in-Residence

Please join the Studio Art Department in welcoming our summer term ’18 Artist-in-Residence, Gina Adams.

Artist talk at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in the Loew Auditorium, Black Family Visual Arts Center. Opening reception to follow at 5:45 p.m. in the Jaffe-Friede Gallery, Hopkins Center for the Arts.

Her exhibition "Its Honor is Hereby Pledged: Broken Treaty Quilts” runs June 26—July 22, 2018, in the Jaffe-Friede Gallery.

Gina Adams spent her early youth in the San Francisco Bay and her adolescent and early adult years in Maine. Gina's formal education includes a BFA from the Maine College of Art and MFA from the University of Kansas, where she focused on Visual Art, Curatorial Practice, and Critical Theory. Her cross-media hybrid studio work includes the reuse of antique quilts and broken treaties between the United States and Native American tribes, sculpture, ceramics, painting, printmaking, and drawing. Her work is exhibited extensively throughout the US and resides in many public and private collections.
