Tricia Treacy Lecture

Please join the Studio Art Department for a lecture with artist Tricia Treacy on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 4:45 pm in Loew Auditorium.

Tricia Treacy is a Philadelphia-born interdisciplinary designer, artist and educator. Her creative practice is actively engaged in the field of design with an emphasis on collaborative practices and experimental bookmaking.

Combining design, printmaking, typography, writing, and digital fabrication, her work is in over forty collections and has been exhibited worldwide. She has also initiated international collaborations that have resulted in publications such as Touch: Vista Sans Wood Type Project and The Phonographic Collectivo. She has collaborated on hybrid printed projects with the Shift-lab collective, DesignInquiry, Printeresting, and the Common Press.

Her creative research has been presented at various venues including ATypI in (Barcelona and Hong Kong), the Center for the Book in New York, Penn Design, San Francisco Public Library, SOTA (Society of Typographic Aficionados) national conferences, The Type Directors Club in NYC, Typo Berlin, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Tricia's work was included in Post Digital Digital Printmaking: CNC Traditional and Hybrid Techniques by Paul Catanese and Angela Geary, A&C Black Publishers, London, 2012.

Tricia has received a 2014 Project Grant from the Center for Craft, Creativity & Design, a 2015 Design Inquiry Fellowship, and a 2017/18 Rome Prize Fellowship in Design at the American Academy in Rome, Italy.
